Description
Iceberg lettuce is a variety of lettuce with crisp leaves which grows in a spherical head resembling a cabbage. The leaves on the outside tend to be green and the leaves in the centre go from pale yellow to nearly. Crisp firm leaves grow in compact, medium-sized heads. Light green fringed and heavily ruffled outer leaves. Classic crisp head variety
- Sow indoors from mid Winter or directly in the garden after danger of frost has passed, and again after Summer heat has eased. Prefers cooler growing conditions as heat can cause the plant to bolt
- Sow seed 3mm deep into well prepared soil.
