Description

Micro greens are tender shoots of vegetable or herbs whish are approx 13 inches (2.5-7.5 cm) tall. They are consumed / harvested just after the cotyledon leaves or first true set of leaves are developed. They have an aromatic flavor and highly concentrated nutrient content and come in a variety of colors and textures. Micro greens can add sweetness and spiciness to foods.
Microgreens are easy and convenient to grow, as they don’t require much equipment or time. They can be grown year-round, both indoor or outdoors.

• DESCRIPTION : Red Amaranth micro greens have a central stem connected to 2-4 elliptic shaped leaves. The smooth leaves are a blend of deep burgundy mixed with dark green hues and are attached to a thin stem that is a vibrant fuschia.
• FLAVOUR / TEXTURE : They are crisp, tender, and have a mild and sweet, earthy flavor reminiscent of mustard but with much less spice and a delicate grassy finish.
• CULINARY USAGE : Stuff in pita sandwiches. Garnish soups, stews, omelets, egg dishes, casseroles and entrances. Micro Red Amaranth greens are best left undressed and added only at the very final stage of finishing a dish.
• NUTRITION AND HEALTH BENEFITS : Amaranth microgreen are packed with thiamine, niacin, calcium, potassium, iron, manganese, zinc, and copper, and its leaves are a good source of vitamins A and C and folate. As well, its seeds are a great source of dietary fibre.
  Because it’s gluten-free, those who have celiacs disease may use amaranth leaves as a great source of protein.
  The seeds also have the ability to relieve hypertension and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels.
