A cool-season annual, leeks are a member of the onion family and are a milder substitute for onions in almost any recipe. Instead of producing a pungent bulb, leeks are harvested for their thick leafstalks that resemble an overgrown scallion. Hardy in zones 2 through 10, leeks need about four months to mature—meaning they’ll be ready to harvest just in time for soup season! . Leek is a versatile vegetable and can be consumed in a variety of ways. Be it raw in salads, in stews and soups, in pizzas, pasta, and fried rice or simply blanched to be added to your favourite dish. Leeks can be had as and when and how you like. How To Sow : Soil should be mixed with well rotten Cow dung. Raise nursery and transplant 40-45 days old plants in beds at the distance of 1.0 feet between line to line and 4 inches plant to plant. Irrigate immediately and then as per requirement. Harvest starts after 70-80 days from transplanting.

The time it takes for seeds to germinate depends on the type of seeds and the growing conditions. On average, most seeds will sprout within 7 to 14 days if kept in optimal conditions such as proper soil moisture, temperature, and light. Some seeds may germinate faster, while others may take longer, so it's always a good idea to check the specific guidelines for the seeds you're planting. Make sure to follow the instructions on the seed packet for the best results.
To keep your seeds fresh, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Proper storage can help maintain seed viability for future planting seasons.
