Iceberg lettuce is a variety of lettuce with crisp leaves which grows in a spherical head resembling a cabbage. The leaves on the outside tend to be green and the leaves in the centre go from pale yellow to nearly whitish as you move closer and closer to the centre of the head with the sweetest leaves in the centre of the head. Lettuce provides significant amounts of vitamins A and K. They have a high water content, making it a refreshing choice during hot weather. They also provide calcium, potassium, vitamin C, and folate. Sow indoors from mid Winter or directly in the garden after danger of frost has passed, and again after Summer heat has eased. Prefers cooler growing conditions as heat can cause the plant to bolt. Sow seed 3mm deep into well prepared soil.

The time it takes for seeds to germinate depends on the type of seeds and the growing conditions. On average, most seeds will sprout within 7 to 14 days if kept in optimal conditions such as proper soil moisture, temperature, and light. Some seeds may germinate faster, while others may take longer, so it's always a good idea to check the specific guidelines for the seeds you're planting. Make sure to follow the instructions on the seed packet for the best results.
To keep your seeds fresh, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Proper storage can help maintain seed viability for future planting seasons.
